Dr. David Pettitt, the founder of JQ1 Medical Aesthetics, is an award-winning, GMC-registered medical doctor. He trained originally in plastic surgery in London and Oxford, before moving into general practice (family medicine). He holds a DPhil (PhD) from the University of Oxford, specialising in stem cell therapies and regenerative medicine. His groundbreaking research has earned multiple international and national awards, and he is widely published - with over 30 peer-reviewed articles in leading academic journals. As a leading authority in his field, Dr. Pettitt has presented his work internationally, sharing his expertise on a global stage.
Following his PhD, Dr. Pettitt was appointed the prestigious Sir David Cooksey Fellow at the University of Oxford to continue his research in regenerative medicines and healthcare translation. His academic journey continued with an MBA with distinction from the University of Birmingham, alongside with a competitive appointment as an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow (ACF). Complementing his scientific achievements, he has completed formal advanced aesthetics training, ensuring the highest standards of care for his patients at JQ1 Medical Aesthetics.
Beyond his medical and academic pursuits, Dr. Pettitt co-founded and leads an international education company, working closely with governments in the Middle East to deliver cutting-edge educational programs, alongside advisory services in the education space . His commitment to education takes him around the world for various engagements, reflecting his passion for knowledge sharing and professional development.
In his personal life, Dr. Pettitt enjoys spending quality time with his young family, staying fit and healthy, and indulging in his love for coffee.
